MIRACLE NOODLES - GLUTEN FREE

This is one of my favorite gluten free meals. And it so easy and quick to make.
Have you heard of “Miracle Noodles?”
These translucent, gelatinous Japanese noodles, which are made from the konjacyam, are low in calories and carbohydrates

These are my go to pasta with out the extra carbs and gluten. Shirataki noodles come pre-packaged in liquid, portioned out in a plastic bag that gets refrigerated. ( but you can find them in your local market kept near the dry pasta.) The noodles are watery and emanate a faint, fishy odor (though they’re 100 percent vegan), which comes from the plant they are made from. Shirataki noodle manufacturers recommend rinsing, draining and drying
Ingredients 1/2 tbs oil
2 tbs fresh garlic, minced
2 tbs fresh ginger, minced
5 scallions, whites and greens separated and thinly sliced
1 tbs sriracha ( or to taste )
1 bell peppers, assorted colors, cut into thin strips
6 oz mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 cup of broccoli per person

Going gluten free is a choice that I am making.

I notice for myself that when I take the gluten out of my diet I feel much better. I was missing my noodles and pasta!!! But I didn’t miss how I felt after eating it.
Now I have so many more options and these are the newest ones. So yummy! Next week I will add a photo and recipe of the salad I will be making.

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY!

I am so proud of this man and his dedication to re-committing to take care of himself and retaking control of his health and fitness.  Read his journey and let him know how proud you are. We all struggle at some point but the key is to pick ourselves back up and move forward.

I feel better now.

A few years ago, I was in world class condition having completed 2 Ironman events within a 6-month time frame. Prior to that, I was a distance runner and had maintained a strong level of fitness for nearly two decades. Fast forward to 2015 and the stresses of work began to cause my focus, motivation and attitude toward fitness to stray. While my nutrition was never poor, the focus that I know to be…

Ghee or not to Ghee….

What the heck is Ghee anyways?
Ghee, or commonly referred to as clarified butter, is a dietary source of fat traditionally used in Indian cooking you can find it in specialty stores like whole foods and some grocery stores.
How is Ghee Made?
Ghee is made by heating butter slowly until all the water cooks off and the proteins coagulate in the bottom of the pan. The ghee is poured off and strained, solidifying once it has cooled. Ghee is cooked longer than traditional clarified butter which gives it a nutty taste.

Why use Ghee?
Ghee has a higher smoke point than normal butter, olive oil and coconut oil, making it an excellent choice for sautéing foods, It doesn’t taste as good to eat a lone but it has an amazing nutty taste and when add it to your veggies or other foods.
Ghee will last a long time outside of the refrigerator and when stored in air tight container it can last up to 3 months and when kept in a refrigerator, without opening, ghee can last up to a year.
Ghee stimulates the se…

When I started my coaching business I never imagined I would be where I am today. I never imagined I would be helping people change their lives and helping them reach their goals in fitness. I have taken on a new challenge and now i want to help women find a way to live a better life.

Maybe you are looking for an opportunity and you want to stop living pay check to paycheck or you want to give your family a better life, vacation, college or retirement. When I started out I just wanted to make some extra cash and be able to work outside the home part time so I could be there for my kids when they got home from school but still bring in some income. Now that I have new goals, I want to help others do the same and regardless how much you want to make or add to your pocket. I know it is possible. You can work this coaching business 1 hour a day or on weekends.

"A multi tasking woman who can balance both the stresses of running a business as an entrepreneur, and the time-consuming duties of motherhood at the same time." As my kids got older I felt the pull to staying home for them and to keep a promise I made to myself when I was kid You know that one you say to yourself “When I grow up my kids will….never have to walk to school ( I said that everyday walking to school as a kid) My job was stressful and I didn’t enjoy what I did even though I was in an industry I loved. When I left, I started working part time but missed the full-time income. When I found Beachbody it gave me back the freedom to help contribute financially and still be there for my kids. When I joined my first challenge group, I had no idea what to expect. I just knew that being 30lbs. overweight was not where I desired to be. I felt very uncomfortable in my own skin and didn’t want anyone to see me. I felt ashamed that I had let myself go and the scale number continued to rise. My pants were too tight and I could no longer fit in my favorite board shorts. I was a runner and didn’t like working out but running wasn’t cutting it and after failing once again, I knew something had to change. I reluctantly joined a challenge group and to my surprise, I found I was not alone. Many people had similar circumstances and were ready for a change. They were looking for support and wanted to feel better about themselves. After the first few days, I was excited to be in this private group. Due to the amount of support and encouragement, I knew I had made the best decision. I learned about healthy eating and portion control which I originally thought was silly because I was confide…
Save More Money

Shopping for groceries, and eating out less you will start to save money. Once you write out your meal plan and the ingredients you will need. Now you can shop and buy only the items you will need for that week. Sticking to your list will save you time and money

Healthier choices vs Eating last minute

If you don't meal plan you'll find yourself going out for dinner. And you are most likely to end up exceeding your daily calorie and sodium intake! Even just stopping at the grocery store to pick up a last minute dinner may lead to poor choices. When you shop hungry, you are more likely to throw junk food into your cart.

Check the weather.
Seriously. Right now, the weather is changing, spring and summer are on their way. Check out the weather forecast, and make your plan based on how you feel and are in the mood for. Soup or Salad?
Prep

Prep food as soon as you get back from the store. Wash and dry lettuce. Chop onions. Cook marinate chicken or beef for the week.

Hello my name is Christine Chowning and I am excited to offer my new group for women who are 40 and over. This is a 5-day FREE group and I am looking for women who are serious and ready to commit to 5 days of change.

Please read below before you say you are interested.

Weight gain sucks and when we reach the age of 40 it sucks even more. We all seem to think that it is impossible to lose weight during menopause. I am here to tell you that you are wrong. If you are committed, you don’t give up and you are not looking for a quick fix then I can help you.

Several factors play a role in weight gain around menopause, including:

Hormone fluctuation, loss of muscle mass, inadequate sleep, and increased insulin resistance. And fat storage starts to shift from the hips and thighs to the abdomen during menopause.
There are several other signs like hot flashes, mood swings. But I am here to tell you that you can combat these challenges. You may not feel motivated but regular exercise and finding the…
Sunday is one of my favorite days. Getting up early to start planning my week and looking through my cookbooks and finding new recipes to try. I didn't do this in the past and I would wing it week by week but after working with my coach, I realized why I have been on a six month long plateau. Once I made the commitment to plan out my week and stop flying by the seat of my pants, the weight started coming off, my workouts were better and over all I just felt better. This way of thinking has flowed over into my everyday life and my business. I am far from perfect but everyday I give it my all. Here are a few tips to help you get started. First look at last week and rate it. If there is a need for improvement find one area that you can work on. Have a plan look at the week ahead and see what it looks like. Review all of your items related to work and family while also making a priority to schedule in your workouts. Plan your meals for the week. They can be changed around from day to…
