What aren't you putting in your body?

Start your morning off with WATER - Did you know when you start your day with a glass of water it will kick start  your  metabolism  and  for the over 40 crowd we need all the help we can get. Summer is almost here so don't forget to drink half your body weight ( pounds ) in ounces  to help keep you hydrated. Especially when working out.

Do you still want that coffee to kick start your  day?  Go a head have a cup.  Leave out the artificial flavors and bad creamers those will definitely derail your weight loss plan.  I use 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, ( coconut has been know to aid in your weight loss but don't over do it.)  2 tablespoons of pure almond  milk (no sugar added). and for a little flavor go ahead and add a splash of vanilla extract. Blend together and enjoy.  Now it will take some time to getting use to but it will be worth leaving behind the extra calories.

Fresh Juice so yummy!  I love to make juice in the morning and it is really easy.  Vegetable juice has plenty of vitamins and minerals and because it has some fiber it can help keep you regular!

Also on tap is Shakeology, yes we call it the healthiest meal of the day but one of the biggest misconceptions is that you have to use it only as a meal replacement. I rarely use it to replace a meal, maybe a snack or I drink it right after my workout.  Like all of you I am busy and on the go this makes more sense then a quick stop to the fast food drive up.

Raw Cauliflower Tabbouleh

The tabbouleh recipe  Clean Plates  founder Jared Koch included in  The Clean Plates Cookbook  is one of those  trompe l’oeil  dishes that play tricks on the eyes. It’s a gluten-free and raw-diet-friendly recipe from Los Angeles’s M Café, and what looks like a traditional grain-based tabbouleh is actually ground cauliflower. The cauliflower adds texture to the herby salad, but its purpose goes beyond that: It’s also a sneaky way to get a big dose of veggies onto your plate.
