Weight loss for 40's and beyond.

You may notice your jeans are tighter and the weight is not falling off like it did in our 20's.  The truth is your metabolism is slowing down and this cause us to yo-yo diet.  Around age 30 most people start to lose about half a pound of the metabolism-revving tissue each year.  At age 50, the rate doubles.  Yikes!! What is this telling us? Chances are that the average sedentary woman could lose close to 15 pounds of muscle by the time she is in her late 50's and this could cause her to gain close to the same amount of body fat.

Here are a few tips to help you get started on your journey to get fit at any age!

• Eat healthy, protein-rich foods to support calorie-burning muscle mass, and follow a moderate-calorie diet.
• Strength-train twice a week to fight muscle loss.
• Squeeze in quickie cardio workouts 3 times a week to hike all-day calorie burn.
